2012 Daffodil Festival

Gloucester, VA

2012

We will be at the children's area again this year. It was a great place to be last year. Come find us right after the parade and kick start your Daffoldil Festival fun! March 24th and 25th

2011

We were at the children's area for the first time in 2011. 2011 marked the 25th Annual Daffodil Festival and the festival organizers went out of their way to make it fun.

2010

We didn't make it to the 2010 Daffodil Festival, which we regret. We do hope to be back there in 2011, if they have room for us.

2009

For 2009 the Daffodil Festival is scheduled for 2 days again. Our location has been moved. In previous years we've been in the center of the food court, right next to the Italian sausage tent (ummm! Great smells and great tastes). This year we'll be located near the entrance to the food court). We'll see you there!

2008

This year the Daffodil Festival was scheduled for 2 days. Saturday was a lot of fun. The temperature was in the 50's and 60's and there were lots of clouds and some wind, but it didn't seem to effect the festival atmosphere.

It was the first day for our newest scooper, Will Conn. Will got a proper induction since we stayed pretty busy all day. He did very well and says he might be willing to come back and help us again. Maybe you'll see him at one of our future events.

Our favorite quotes

Saturday

"Mommy, it's snowing popcorn." Words from a little girl after the wind caught the popping kettle korn in mid-air and blew it toward her.

Sunday

"I want to thank both of you for coming out here today." Said by a singer as she took the stage. (It was raining and the crowd was sparse. But there were more than 2 people. Really, there were.)

Directions to the Festival

Just over 100 miles from Fredericksburg down U.S. 17, you can be there in 2 hours.

2007

Held the first weekend in April, this is typically one of the first big events of the Spring season. In 2007, the event was scheduled for Saturday only. And then, it snowed 3 inches overnight and the event was snowed out.

2006 Daffodil Festival

Lots of fun. We were right next to a booth grilling Italian sausages with green peppers and onions. Yummy!

Larry, Nia and Eric were all there, so we had plenty of help. During the afternoon, Nia had some free time and went around to all the craft booths.
