George Washington's Ferry Farm

George Washington moved to Ferry Farm at the age of 6 and lived there through most of his youth, until he moved to Mount Vernon in early manhood. It would have been at Ferry Farm that he would have 'chopped down the cherry tree,' according to popular legend.

Today, Ferry Farm is the scene of many special events that draw crowds from throughout the Fredericksburg, Stafford and Spotsylvania areas.

We like Ferry Farm because the people there are so nice. The staff and volunteers work hard to perserve the beauty of the site.

Two good web sites to watch for news of Ferry Farm are: Ferry Farm homepage and Fredericksburg Foundation events
