Stafford Family Film and Fun Fest, 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., Curtis Park, Stafford, VA. The Wizard of Oz. We were excited (since we lived in Kansas for over 14 years) but there was a big storm that ended things early. Too bad, because we had a great spot from which to watch the movie.

Spotsylvania Film Festival, 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., Robert E. Lee School, Spotsylvania, VA. Friday night was fun, a little bit hot, but we were able to hang in there. Saturday night got rained out. Big clouds, lots of lightning, and buckets of rain. Too bad, because we were looking forward to the movie.

Fourth of July Celebration at Ferry Farms, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Washington's Ferry Farm, Fredericksburg, VA. What fun this was! They had just announced 2 days earlier that they had located the site of the house that George Washington grew up in, so there was lots of excitement. There was some good bluegrass music. The slack rope walker was there. All-in-all, a great time.
July 4
Caroline County 4th of July Celebration, 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., Caroline County High School, Bowling Green, VA. Wow! It rained pretty hard for about 45 minutes starting around 6:00, so we had a late start. But things dried out and the crowd came out and we had a great time. Caroline County is getting ready to host the Virginia State Fair in just a few months, and based on our observations, the fair will be right at home with the good people of Caroline County.
