The 2006 Heritage Festival was marked by rain. It was hot and muggy when we set up about 5:00 p.m. Then it started raining lightly about 6:00 p.m. and a lot of people ran to their cars. It stopped raining and everyone came back out. Then about 7:30, we had a lightning storm. Lots of rain with thunder and lightning. Time to run for shelter. The lightning went away after a while and even though it was still very wet, they were able to go ahead with the fireworks. And, the fireworks were pretty nice. Overall, a nice event, but it would have been even better without all the rain.
